Who killed Laura Palmer?

Audrey, Shelley, Donna, Norma Jean, Bobby, Leland, Josie, Lucy, Leo, Pete, Dr Lawrence Jacoby?

Sherriff Harry S Truman and FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper lead the charge, as SWIFF’22 proudly presents Beautiful Dark: The Music of Twin Peaks, Australia’s preeminent interpreters of the music of David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti, live on stage.

David Lynch and Mark Frost’s huge cast of eclectic characters reformed the whodunnit, wrapped it in plastic, and delivered still to this day one of the most beloved TV cult classics.

And now – you can immerse into the small alpine community of Twin Peaks once more through Badalamenti’s iconic music scores, performed by Beautiful Dark.

That’s damn fine coffee.

After sold out shows during the Melbourne Fringe Festival, and another, with STORYLAND artist Hachiku, at Castlemaine’s Theatre Royal earlier in 2021, Beautiful Dark have regrouped to reinterpret and reimagine the world of David Lynch and Mark Frost’s television series in its most immersive way yet.

Beautiful Dark are an ensemble focussed on bringing the mood and music of Twin Peaks to life. Theatricality is fully embraced by Beautiful Dark’s 7-piece ensemble – who perform in character as Twin Peaks’ iconic line-up of characters. Log Lady included.

“Black as midnight on a moonless night.”

Using video and audio from the series, along with projections, props and a total commitment to the original soundtrack, the band’s new show A Night at the Roadhouse is unlike any other. From the Double R Diner to the Red Room, this show takes the audience on a journey through a strange and mysterious world where the birds sing a pretty song and there’s always music in the air.

Beautiful Dark’s music will leave you absolutely wrapped (in plastic) for 90 minutes.
